towards a bloggable architecture

Architecture is at a critical point of departure. On one hand, it’s an increasingly complex, research driven field. On the other, projects are collapsing into diagrams with a simplicity that clients and a new breed of casual architecture critics can understand. As designers begin to post their projects on Tumblr, Twitter, Cargo Collective and Facebook, the average amount of time viewers spend actually looking at them is getting smaller and smaller. Firms like Atelier Bow-Wow and BIG are plugged into this network because of the digestible quality of their work. It requires slightly more than a glance to understand the basic project, no further study or architectural knowledge is required. This project uses the blog format as an architectural medium. One image describing the entire project coupled with a 3D Stereoscopic GIF. This medium can reveal a project’s simplicity, even if the subject matter is complex.
